Blanco Disrespect for Bush is Discraceful

Former President George H. W. Bush spoke today at 100 Anniversary graduation at Louisiana College. Governor Blanco sent a representitive instead of going herself. And she wonders why the administration doesn't seem to want to do her any favors.

She spent most of the immediate recovery time after Katrina pointing the finger at President Bush every time faults with Louisiana government was pointed out. She has become anti-oil drilling in an oil state. She wants to spend the state surplus to reward the businesses of her supporters.

Hey Kath, go home and bake some cookies.

No Perverts for Baton Rouge

We aren't big fans of Mayor Kip "Da Kingfish" Holden, but lately he has done a better job. He is doing the right thing to try to keep the sex offender shelter out of Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge has suffered enough from Katrina with the recent rise in crime, outbreaks of fights in public schools, and rise in welfare roles. Enough.

If you want to shelter sex offenders during a hurricane, find the most rickey old barn in the path of the storm and put them up there.

Sports is for Sports

What the hell was that idiot Spike Lee doing on Monday Night Football? I didn't tune in to watch him spout his racist political pap, I tuned in to watch the Saints beat the Falcons and make a fool out of a certain kicker who is proof that our immagration policy sucked 25 years ago.

And why couldn't we get some Louisiana talent for the music instead of that socialist no-talent Bono. I heard Bill Clinton once say that he was the smartest man in the world--he couldn't say smartest person, that would get him in trouble at home. A few days later I saw Bono on C-Span, he was a mumbling idiot who was spouting off about confiscation of American income to be turned over to the treasuries of third world dictators.

At least the Saints won and girlie-man Martin looked bad.

Summer of Confiscation Ends

The State Police (their motto: To Collect and Serve) have ended their 100 Days of Speed Traps, or Red Hot Summer Cash Grab, or whatever they called it. 53,000 people are going to be made to make involuntary donations to local government where their hard earned money will go to sleezy local politicians pet projects and pockets.

And while otherwise law obiding citizens are being persued, a popular country music star can be caught with enough drugs to land most of us in Angola. He gets a misdomenor ticket that he can pay out of petty cash.

They have been out of control since the Roemer administration. Hopefully when we elect a new governor next year he or she will reform them.
